How many days are in each pay period?
A weekly period covers 7 days, bi-weekly covers 14. Semi-monthly splits the month into the 1st–15th and the 16th through the end of the month, so it runs 15 or 16 days depending on the half and how long the month is. Monthly covers the full calendar month, 28 to 31 days.

Is a printable timesheet enough to meet FLSA recordkeeping requirements?
Yes. The FLSA doesn’t require a specific format, paper or digital both work as long as the record is accurate and kept on file. Employers must keep records used to compute pay, including time cards, for at least two years, and payroll records for at least three years. The catch with paper is that accuracy is entirely on whoever’s collecting and filing the sheets, there’s no audit trail if one is lost, altered, or never turned in.

Can I edit the columns or add my own?
You can choose between three layouts, time in/out with a lunch column, separate morning and afternoon in/out, or just regular/overtime/total hours, and add a notes column to any of them. The generator doesn’t support fully custom column labels; for something more specific, download the CSV and add columns in a spreadsheet.

Does the CSV download match what prints?
Yes. The CSV has the same dates, day-of-week labels, and columns as the printed version, just without the signature lines and pay summary box, so it’s ready to open in Excel, Google Sheets, or Numbers and total by formula.

What happens to the information I enter?
Everything stays in your browser. The company name, employee name, and layout choices are saved locally so they’re still there if you come back, but nothing is sent anywhere or stored on a server. Clearing your browser data resets it.
